Examples Of Work Undertaken
Kitchen Installation #1 |
Fitting this kitchen was a challenge and proof that sometimes things don't go to plan! After fitting it to the original plan the client decided that they wanted some extra units and others swapped around. It was also a challenge dealing with the uneven walls. However the end result speaks for itself and was worth all the hardwork. |

Kitchen Installation #2 |
This was a replacement kitchen and the original which I had to remove was probably the most difficult I have encounted as it was brick built with a re-inforced concrete worktop! Having removed the brick supports the work top remained suspended on the wall and even jumping up and down on it didn't move it! It was cut out in sections - very time consuming and very dusty. A new stud wall was created in front of the existing wall and the new kitchen was fitted to that. |

Bathroom Installation #1 |
With this project, the clients wanted to replace the old, tired bathroom and install a substantial shower instead of a bath It was a complete renovation of the room with new ceiling, tiling of the walls and floors, new electrics and plumbing. The renovation was then finished off by installing new lighting and an electric towel rail. |

Bathroom Installation #2 |
The client's existing bathroom was big enough for a toilet and basin only. We extended the bathroom area by using part of the next door bedroom, without compromise, thereby creating space for a shower. It was a complete renovation of the room with new window, electircs, plumbing, tiling and oak laminate flooring. The new bathroom suite included a suspended basin and toilet.

Renovating Historic Features |
This feature front door was made in 1840 and built directly into the walls of the house. It was very draughty and to rectify this, I made an oak frame with draught excluder and set it into the stone surround. An aluminium threshold was also installed to stop water coming in from underneath the doors. As well as fitting extra bolts, the inside paint was stripped off and the natural oak was revealed and polished. |

Reflooring |
This is an outside undercover terrace area which couldn't be used because the existing floor area had rotted and collapsed. We renewed and fitted joists and floorboards with a step up to meet our customers requirements. |

Bespoke Carpentry |
Client had space under their stairs and wanted a storage solution. As she is very keen on Ikea products I made a set of cupboards to fit under the stairs with sliding Ikea trays. We finished the doors with mouldings to match existing cupboards in the house. |

Fireplace Installation |
The clients hated this original stuck on fireplace surround and wanted us to make a fireplace with more character and charm. They also wanted to install a wood burning stove. We brought the existing wall forward to give us space to create a large and deep enough area to build a feature stone backing for the wood burning stove and we brought the hearth slightly into the room. We inserted an oak beam as a mantel which was reclaimed from one of their out-buildings. |

Plasterboarding |
From time to time, a local French artisan asks me to help with renovations. He does most of it himself with his apprentices, but leaves the me the best bits!!! Here, I had to rail, insulate and plasterboard the vaulted ceiling inbetween the oak beams and against the stone wall. |

Roofing |
After untold years of neglect, this out-building roof finally collapsed. It was our job to replace the timbers and re-tile the roof.

Dining Room Renovation |
This dining room was completely renovated from top to bottom. The crowning glory, without a doubt, was the new fireplace made from reclaimed sandstone. The "before" and "after" pictures show how the fireplace area was completly transformed.
